The Latest TSBs and Recall Information: Just One More Reason to Head to the Dealer for Maintenance and Repairs
In a previous post, we discussed Volkswagen service and the various service plans available. Not only is it important to choose the right service plan for you, but it’s also important to choose a certified VW technician to work on your car. Going to our dealership's Volkswagen service center is a good choice for a number of reasons. For starters, you’ll get the highest quality service for your car and enjoy fast, efficient service. And, because our technicians have the latest information from the factory, there are financial and safety benefits as well. Read on to learn how Falcone Volkswagen of Indianapolis uses Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) to offer you better service.
What is a TSB?
When a new car is released, the manufacturer of that car keeps tabs on the common complaints and repairs associated with that car. They do this by staffing a team of technical service representatives that collect service data all over the country and send it to the manufacturer. After looking closely at this data for recurring problems, the car manufacturer employs a factory-trained service team to find the best solution to fix the problem. Once a solution is found, a report containing both the problem and the solution is sent to dealerships nationwide. This report is referred to as a TSB, or Technical Service Bulletin.
How Does Having the Latest TSB Help You?
If your car is under warranty and is having a problem that is described in a TSB, you can go to the dealership and get the issue fixed for free. Furthermore, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that the dealership will know exactly how to fix the problem, and better than anyone else.
What is a Recall?
Unlike a TSB, a recall is a safety matter with a given car that, by law, must be repaired by the dealership, regardless of whether or not the car is still under warranty.
How Does Having the Latest Recall Information Help You?
Many new cars end up being recalled and repaired for free. When you come to Falcone for maintenance, the technicians will be able to bring the problem to your attention and fix it using the latest repair information from the manufacturer.
